What to Expect at Lake Fenton

Let's face it, visiting a new church can be intimidating. All too often, churches say that they're inviting, only to turn around and give you the cold shoulder for being different or the stink eye every time your kids shift or squeak in their seats. We get it! A lot of us here at Lake Fenton UMC have gotten that same treatment at other churches which is how we found our way here! As a visitor we want you to know what you can expect when you visit Lake Fenton UMC.

What You'll See
Here at Lake Fenton UMC, you'll see people of all ages, races, and ability levels sharing their love of God together. We have black members as well as white members. We have LGBTQ+ members as well as straight members. Our oldest member is over 90, and our youngest member is only 1. Our members are deaf, autistic, blind, able-bodied, and everything in between.

We believe that each and every person is a unique and unrepeatable miracle of God, and we strive to make space in our worship for everyone to experience the transformative power of God's love in their own unique and miraculous way!

What You'll Hear
Here in worship, you'll hear music - and lot's of it! We've got a lot of singers, musicians, and performers here at Lake Fenton UMC, and they share their gifts freely. You'll hear congregation members teasing the pastor from their seats for adding typos to the church bulletin, and you'll hear kids clapping to the music or joking the with pastor during our kids message.

In short, you'll hear people! Living and loving God with all the unique feelings, gifts, perspectives, and burdens that they bring into worship.

What You'll Feel
No matter who you are, no matter where you’ve been, no matter what you’ve done, we believe that God loves you, and there’s nothing you can do about it. We will do our best to love you the way God does, and we promise that we will never make you feel unwanted or small.
