Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision
We envision a world in which God's love is experienced by all people, where the gift of God's grace is shared freely, and where all people are cherished as sacred carriers of God's own image.

Our Mission
To form disciples of Jesus Christ who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in mission to the world and our local community.

Our Values

Holy Belonging
We seek to build a community where people feel God's love and not our judgement. A community where the table of Christian fellowship means affirmation, safety, and security for all people. No matter who they are and no matter where they come from.

Holy Hilarity
We are a community that takes the Good News of Jesus far more seriously than we take ourselves. We believe that God's love is often experienced best in exuberant joy, loud laughter, and the warm affection of friends and family.

Holy Curiosity
We are a community that embraces difficult questions asked in a spirit of thoughtful curiosity. A community which welcomes diverse voices and perspectives, and where God's people can disagree with one another in a spirit of mutual respect and love.

Holy Community
We believe that true discipleship is a call to service. We believe that God's love should be shared with others in the way we serve them and that following Jesus means meeting our community both inside and outside our walls.

Our Beliefs

Picture
We believe in the Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God's heart was revealed to humanity in the life, teaching, ministry, and resurrection of God's Son, Jesus Christ, and we believe that, through Jesus, God healed creation. We believe that through the Holy Spirit, God remains active in the world around us and that, in the end, love will have the last word.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."
 1 Corinthians 13:13

"Love is the end, the sole end, of every dispensation of God."
John Wesley, The Law Established Through Faith II

What is a United Methodist?

The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. Through the life of congregations like ours, United Methodists seek to put faith and love into action.  We believe that Jesus Christ is the fullest expression of God's love - showing us the fullness of God's care through Jesus' teachings, death and resurrection.

John Wesley started the Methodist movement in 18th century England. His teachings on practical divinity (living out our faith) and appeals to reason and experience form important aspects of United Methodist practice today.
